Features
Everything you need for interval walking. Nothing you don't.
Interval timer with voice cues
Set your interval length — 3 minutes fast, 3 minutes slow is the classic split — and go. A voice cue tells you exactly when to switch pace, so you can keep your eyes up and your phone in your pocket.
A full Apple Watch companion app
This isn't a glance-only remote. Start, pause, and stop a walk directly from your wrist. Your current phase, countdown, heart rate, and distance are all live on your watch face — and on your iPhone's Lock Screen and Dynamic Island via Live Activities.
Heart rate zones, from Health or a chest strap
Japanese Walk reads heart rate from Apple Health, or connects directly to a Bluetooth chest strap if you have one. Either way, you'll see which zone you're actually training in during your fast intervals — not just a raw number.
GPS route tracking
Every walk maps your route, distance, and pace, so you can see exactly where you went and how far.
Full walk history
Browse your walks by day, week, or month. See trends in your heart rate, your total time, your laps, and your calories — and watch your personal records update as you get fitter.
Optional iCloud backup
Turn on iCloud backup and your walk history follows you if you switch devices — entirely within your own iCloud account, never on our servers.
Reminders
Set a reminder for the days and times you want to walk, so building the habit doesn't rely on willpower alone.
No social feed. No leaderboard. No ads.
Japanese Walk is built to be used, not scrolled. There's no feed to compare yourself against, no ads interrupting your walk, and nothing competing for your attention beyond the walk itself.
